Bob Obenchain is a native Hoosier who returned to Indianapolis in 1990 to join the statistical organization at Eli Lilly. His areas of primary expertise include outcomes research, nonrandomized studies, propensity score adjustment, and cost-effectiveness inference. Bob earned a BS from Northwestern University and a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is the lead author of 41 publications and coauthor of 21 additional publications with Lilly colleagues.
Bob began his professional career at AT&T Bell Labs as a Member Tech Staff in Applied Statistics in 1969. Bob moved to the pharmaceutical industry in 1986 as Manager of Non-Clinical Statistics at Glaxo in Research Triangle Park, NC. Bob's professional affiliations include the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Bob has served as President of the local Central Indiana Chapter of ASA three times (2001, 1997, 1993) and was elected a Fellow of ASA in 1997.
